  1. I spent 3 years teaching media literacy at the university and I found this article to be both confirming and satisfying. Indeed we do form vicarious relationships with fictional characters. What happens to them–but more sp the choices they make–affect us and can make or break our attitudes about an entire franchise. Characters are afterall our window into a narrative.
