Don’t shop very often at WalMart, but went to one with my daughter and a friend the day after Christmas. They only had the self checkout open and if I had realized that first, I would have walked out. If they hadn’t been with me, I’d have left my cart. As it was, I checked out, slamming all my stuff against the scanner, muttering loudly as I went. Got a chuckle out of the two of them, but I could only enjoy my aggression. At another store later, could have sworn the cashier wished me a nice passive-aggressive day, which made me laugh, even though I know I misheard her.
It would be great if they actually booked the staff they hired buy they actually don’t. True story they think a five hour shift a week for people trying to pay their bills is a good thing. So the next time you don’t see staff realize that Walmart thinks this is a good idea.
Glad it’s not just in the UK!
This is all our supermarkets now. I don’t like them, people’s jobs have been lost. Next to no customer interaction anymore..very sad.
25 checkout lanes only 2 are open
We have like 20 self checkouts and only 4 actual cashier lanes here. and maybe 2 open

Seems legit.
This is the “Before” photo before the “After”.
Plot twist: The real Wal-Mart cashiers are the customers.
Never seen a Walmart that clean and organized
All 3 of them
Same in Australia π¦πΊ
I donβt get why stores dedicate so much space to this area, it is never used to that extent. They do this with new stores even.οΏΌ
Yes

The nearest WalMart to me is a 3 hour drive so the last thing I want to do is stand in line for about 30 minutes waiting to check out.
Walmart policy was that the lines should never be more than three customers deep, according to Sam Walton, founder.
Nope. The customers are the cashiers.

Did anyone else hear the X-Files music when they saw this?π

funny, all of ours were converted to online order pickers and given a raise.
Weβre just taking a break in the back
One thing I do like about Walmart is you donβt have to whip out a stupid savings card like everywhere else β¦ everyone gets the same price !!!!!!!
so MANY AISLES, so LITTLE TIME!
I think you have that backwards. Wallmart cashiers are all the aliens escaped from Area 51
I’ll take a self checkout over standing in line for a cashier any day!
