  1. Well, they already tried a number of times with the “Creature from the Black Lagoon” with no avail. *shrug*. I think just recently so? Didn’t they? Like 5 or so years back. When they were banking on Cruise to revive the “monster”movies?
And it hasn’t gone over to good. And I don’t think it ever will anymore. Just antiquated, and everyone knows the story.
But now for Critters…maybe! *shrug* who cares bout that flick anyways.

  2. Not a remake, but I have to say Monarch the series with Kurt and Wyatt Russell was a really great Godzilla retelling, but it’s because it had its own storyline that made it not just another “remake”, other than that, instead they need to remake shows that really need to be remade because they never got a chance:
    1. Automan
    2. Streethawk
    3. Manimal

  3. Troma films – Creature from the Black Legume – about a giant radioactive black bean sprout monster that invades a nudist spa and turns everyone into a mass of quivering tofu.

  4. Reimagining is a synonym for plagiarism; it is used by people who don’t have any original ideas or their own! Go look for something new, as another person posted, there are lots of stories out there!

  5. I think they’re missing the point that cult classic movies like Critters are so good because they are so bad. Remaking them with blockbuster-quality special effects just strips away the everything that made it fun in the first place. We’re not talking about masterpieces of storytelling like Dune that 1000% deserved another chance at an adaptation. Just leave these movies as time capsules and move on.

  6. Larry Cohen was a genius of low budget filmmaking. I’d love to see a good remake of Q or The Stuff. The one movie that you forgot was C.H.U.D. A remake of that would be amazing! It’s got everything. Social awareness, environmental consciousness, and man eating monsters!
