CheatSheet reports that Steven Spielberg has shared insights on his approach to filmmaking, emphasizing that he never writes movies specifically for actors. Instead, Spielberg focuses on the story and characters, believing that the right actors will naturally fit into the roles if the narrative is strong and compelling.

Well he is mostly a director. He rarely writes his films. Most are either adaptations of books with a screenwriter or written by others entirely.
When Spielberg does write, it has been with mixed results.
