Yeah the only one I know off the top of my head would be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where they improved it by going away from the book i.e. the songs were much better than the books.
They’re usually getting paid very well to write adaptations. If the producer had wanted the exactly the way the previous person had made it there will be no reason to make it.
Always been that way great books or comics to tv/cinema with script writers or directors who want to put their personal touch and ruin it or make it mid.
Well, he’s not completely wrong there, but I’ve give him more credit if he’d actually finished his own series on time to actually have a say in the adaptation of his STILL unfinished series… that I never plan to read anyway.

Probably talking about GOT 😂. And they still continue to do it. From Star Wars to Stephen King, to anything else 😂.
This guy…..he is hardly a prolific genius

I wonder if he has any specific example in mind…
Alert me when he finishes the last book. He’s gonna die first, and then we’ll find out the HBO ending was his outline.
It’s a good thing The Wizard of Oz never heeded that kind of advice…
A writer who worked as a screenwriter should know that a lot of things that works in literature doesn’t work in movies.

Says the man who never finished his own book series.
It wasn’t finished though.
The books were bad, they found a way to make it worse?
Well yeah season 8 of YOUR story proved it.
Wasn’t he a lead writer on Beauty and the Beast
I am pretty sure he was involved in the GOT screen writing.
This could all be avoided if you would just FINISH THE SERIES yourself.
He’s not wrong. But if you finish your work, it’s easier to blame the screenwriters.
YES GEORGE BUT YOU HAVE TO FINISH THE STORY FOR THEM FIRST.
Otherwise, they can’t adapt, they have to instead add their own ending on, thereby destroying a legacy…
Ssshhh George. If you’d just focus and finish your book perhaps they wouldn’t have had to..,.
Finish the book, George.

Problem isn’t the writers. It is producers.
Sometimes what’s worse is when the author also becomes the screenwriter
