George Miller’s decision not to bring back Charlize Theron as Furiosa may have jeopardized the “Mad Max” franchise. The struggle of “Furiosa” in the theatrical wasteland highlights the impact of her absence.

Yeah, she could easily have played a toddler and a teenager (heavy sarcasm)
Actually, saw Furiosa this afternoon, and thought it was terrific
Whoever wrote this article didn’t watch the movie, shes a young furiosa, that would be like getting Alec Guinness to reprise his role as teenager obi wan.
Well duh. Most of the time movies do better if you use famous, talented actors when possible. Otherwise you better have an amazing story where nobody cares who is in it
We’re in a day and age where we’re dropping things to be able to afford things we need. We also have huge HDTVs and more comfortable digs and don’t mind waiting a month or two … or three?… to see a movie. There was one I would have liked to see in the theaters but I couldn’t find the time to go. I dropped $25 to own it. It’s not necessarily casting or even plot, it’s change.
What waffle, I’m not sure why this film didn’t get the people through the door.. but I don’t think it’s because he used a different actress to play a younger version of furiouser
Well, I loved it and I love Anya T-J but the recasting was pointless since the movie ends pretty much where Fury Road begins and the fact that it’s been almost 10 years since Fury Road doesn’t help. By Hollywood standard we should have seen the whole trilogy by now
The lack of Max is the problem; hell, bring back Old Man Gibson. Folks in Hollywood who’ve done far worse than he has have been forgiven, and his name still draws crowds.
I’m a max fan😀👍not a furiosa fan. Don’t use the mad max name, if ur not gonna have have max in the movie.😀👍 build ur own foundation & build from there. FURIOUS FURIOSA…now that i would watch😀👍
Pretty much most movies are struggling at the box office. Basically it’s too much streaming at home, theaters are way too expensive and inflation is making everything pretty expensive.
I’m all for women but I low-key want mad Max in a mad Max movie. Just makes sense I know this is a spin-off but let’s be realistic not many are going to be interested cuz it’s not mad Max
“Do you want to pay $16/ticket to see this movie in a sticky lounge seat? Or do you want to wait two months to see the movie for free in your own living room, and you can press pause whenever you want?”
No. It appears people just aren’t going to the movies like they used to…I still go to the movies but I don’t rush off to see a new film ASAP. I will be seeing Furiosa next week.

I liked Furiosa much more than Fury Road. Also, I think Anya Taylor-Joy did a great job in her role.
I am so freaking tired of people speculating about movies…

It’s hilarious you think it’s Charlize Theron 😂🤦🏼♂️ It’s the lack of Max
I’m pretty sure it is dead
The original Furiosa killed the Mad Max series already
People don’t like change.. & when things don’t change 🤷

I doubt that casting is the issue. People just aren’t going to the movies like they use to.
I thought it was Charlize Theron who chose not to return because she felt too masculine?

So how many movies have made the expected bank since covid and in these tryimg economic times?
How about not bringing Mad Max back to the Mad Max franchise?
The movie should have focused on Max and more back story on that
Mel should be back involved with this.
She shouldn’t have been in there either.
I liked it.
Box office results aren’t just bad for furiosa, it’s cinema as a whole that’s in decline.
Is that cause she’s a robot? Still searching for that answer…………
Uhhh, maybe bring back max? Lol
Such a good movie and flops , wtf ? 🤷♂️
By not bringing back Tom Hardy… THE MAD MAX

Thought the film was great and the lady who played Furioso did a stellar job. I think people just like to find fault with any movie now.

Perhaps they should have made a Mad Max movie?? 🤣🤣

That’s odd because I thought Fury Road was crap too
