  1. Yall realize that the storm troopers were not trying to kill luke in a new hope. They were herding him towards an end that just simply was evaded. Same in cloud city. How do you think it would have worked for the trooper that actually shot luke before vadar has his encounter with him. Even Obi-Wan new that the blast marks were too precise to be sand people. They were the work of imperial troopers.

  2. Well, we’ve seen that redshirts usually die in ways other than being shot. Things fall on them. They fall into holes that appear for various reasons. They buy the farm at the hands, tentacles or pincers of some creature…
In the above scenario, the stormtrooper would shoot, the redshirt would stumble backward unharmed, but trip and fall into the path of a horta and get fried.

Not sure Schrodinger can use this.

  3. funny, but not many people know the whole thing of “Schrodinger’s Cat”, such as the experiment never actually happened. That’s part of the point of “Theoretical Physics”. And also, 2 other big points of it were that you can’t observe anything without affecting the outcome; and the possibility of the multi-verse.
Another thing he’s not credited for is being a psychological genius for the theoretical experiment, too. The exact same concept could be done with a coin flip, catching the coin in your hand and covering it with your hand, to reveal ‘heads or tails’ only when you lift your hand. But no one would remember the theoretical experiment of “Shrodinger’s Coin Flip”.

  4. Depends on the timeline

    OG SW:
vs TOS – Storm Troopers either New Hope opening scene hit or they miss and Red Shirt dies while diving for cover
    vs TNG – Stormtrooper misses

    Prequel SW:
vs TOS – Red shirt is dust
vs TNG – 3 Red Shirts, 2 Gold and a Blue

    Sequel SW:
vs TOS – Red Shirt dies of old age in slow pursuit
vs TNG – ST hits all the nobodies, Q slows time because he is bored and helps the Red Shirt carry the day making him Captain then we find out its just Picard in a fever dream

  5. Easy. Both die. Storm Trooper shoots, and obviously misses. Instead hits the control panel for an exterior hull door. Both get vacuumed out into space.

  6. Okay, here we go down an unpopular rabbit hole… please keep in mind it’s just a story.
First, Stormtroopers get a bad rap that carried over from the first movie because they couldn’t hit the main characters we later realize are largely protected by The Force – even ‘Old Ben’ remarked on the Trooper’s standard of excellent precision. Pay attention in the movies, it’s only the Force Sensitive heros they keep missing, everyone else is decimated.
Second, in TOS Trek, it was Security that wore the Red Shirts, and Security’s job was to step into harms way to protect the Principals (series heros) and this trend continues throughout the Trek Universe(s?). This continued even with Tasha Yar.
But here’s The Twist…who replaced Tasha, made the position his own, and worked his way up from that foundation and reputation. That’s right, Worf. Not only is he the most developed, evolved, progressed & promoted character covering more than one series and movies, he is the most trained, battle hardened, tenacious, combat experienced ‘Red Shirt’ in that franchise.
So, yeah, there’s that. Kill him. I dare you. I double-dog dare you.
    WAIT!
I wanna make some popcorn first…
